Spring Break: Kids Canvas Painting Workshop

Theme: Kites Up Up and Away

Looking for things to do during spring break? Come join our  fun painting session with Vivo’s energetic instructor Ms. Ruth Jones. All materials- canvas board, brushes, paints, etc will be provided. No experience is necessary, our professional team will guide the group along the way. You will bring home a 11″ x 14″ canvas.

Age: fun for kids 7 and up

Kids will paint with acrylic paint and we recommend cloths you are ok getting paint on.

 


Fall Semester updates

We are open for in-person lessons as well as virtual lessons. Our team is doing our best to provide a safe and healthy environment for our students and teachers.

To keep Vivo clean and safe, here is what we are doing and the guidelines we have set:

  1. Temperature check of everyone who walks in
  2. Any shared instruments will be wiped down in between students (e.g pianos)
  3. If you are not feeling well, stay home.
  4. Teachers will maintain 6 feet of distance from the students.
  5. Students must sanitize or wash their hands prior to their lesson. Hand sanitizer and hand soap + water is available.
  6. Teachers are required to wear masks
  7. Parents are strongly encouraged to stay in the car.
  8. Students will have the choice of being fully in person, fully online, or a mix of both. Please coordinate with your teacher or our staff.
  9. Our art classes have the maximum capacity of 5 students

Coronavirus updates

In light of the recent health concerns in our community about the COVID-19 virus, we would like you to be informed about the actions we are taking:

  1. We will remain open for all regular lessons
  2. If you prefer not to send your child, you may choose the online lessons option.  Please discuss with your child’s teacher whatever methods agreeable between you and the teacher.
  3. If a student is sick, please do not come for lesson. Contact our office or the teacher to cancel lesson and arrange makeup

To keep Vivo clean and safe, this is what we do:

  1. The teacher will clean the instruments (especially piano) after each lesson
  2. All teachers have been informed to wipe the instruments and door handles before and after every lesson,
  3. We will keep the front door open and keep air flows
  4. If the teacher or student feel sick please stay home
  5. Teachers will keep a distance from student and avoid touching student’s hand
  6. Students who come in must use hand sanitizer or wash their hands before entering the room.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.   We are doing our best to provide a safe and healthy environment for our students.

NFMTA Fall Festival Results

NFMTA (North Fulton Music Teacher Association) Fall Festival was held on Nov 1 and 2. The event is a noncompetitive audition where students prepare two memorized pieces and the accompanying scales and chords. Each participant will receive written comments from an adjudicator and a Certificate of Participation.  Each judge will choose a few performers to receive cash award.

All Vivo student received Superior rating. Congratulation to the following students that were selected to receive performance cash prize award. We are proud of them!

Piano Group Class

Interested for your youngster to try out the piano but not ready for one on one instruction yet? Group lessons are a great way for beginner introduction to music or an instrument. After a student completes that session, they will progress into a private lesson.

Piano for Little Fingers

-Piano Group Class for grade k-2

Introducing piano playing in a fun and interactive way!

Learning in a group atmosphere allows students to tap along, get encouraged with friends and promote positive competition. The 10-week session provide a comprehensive fundamental beginning to piano learning and prepares students for future private lessons.

Curriculum includes reading notes and rhythm pattern, technical exercises, musical games, learning how to play familiar tunes, ensemble playing and more.

The class will meet twice a week: One day of lesson and a day of assisted practice
Payment must be paid in full. If you have to miss a class, you may attend a similar class the same week.

Our students did a fantastic job in the 2019 spring ABRSM (Associate Board of the Royal Schools of Music) practical exam! Among 32 participants, 11 received distinctions and 11 received merit. All distinction students will be invited to perform at the ABRSM Georgia High Scorers’ Concert.

Guitar Group Classes Feb 23-Apr 27

Learn guitar in a fun interactive group environment. The 9-week guitar group class is designed for beginners aged 10 and up where you will learn easy picking techniques and basic strumming patterns and songs. We will also tab into technology with Achieve Music app that helps with practice and assessment.

About the Instructor:

Mr. Steve Freeman

 Steve is accomplished Jazz/Rock guitarist and career educator. Steve began his education at the Berklee College of Music and continued his studies at the Musicians Institute (MI) in Hollywood CA. After his graduation Steve was asked to join the faculty at MI and remained on staff for several years. Steve left MI to open the Atlanta Institute of Music, an accredited school for guitar, bass, drums, voice, brass and production. After 12 years as CEO Steve sold the school and joined Camp Jam’s national music program as their Vice President of Operations. Steve is currently working in business development for Achieve Music, a practice and feedback app for music teachers and their students. Steve has authored several books and continues to compose and record his original music. Steve’s music can be heard at www.stevefreemanguitar.com

ABRSM Fall 2018 High Scorers

Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) is the UK’s largest music education body, one of its largest music publishers and the world’s leading provider of music exams, offering assessments to over 600,000 candidates in over 90 countries every year.

NFMTA Fall Festival Award Winners

Fall Festival is an event sponsored by North Fulton Music Teacher Association. Each participant will perform for a judge and receive written comments and a Certificate of Participation. Each judge also chooses top performers to receive performance award. This year Vivo sent 22 piano students to participate in the event and 8 were selected to receive performance award.
